Online Media
Many smaller firms may be able to benefit from internet marketing and attempt to compete with larger companies, according to one expert.
A spokesperson at the advisory body SmallBusiness.co.uk claimed that it is now more likely that people will look to the internet in order to research products, reports Spannerworks.
Newer firms should see the positives of this as the internet grows in popularity, the organisation added.
Editor at the website Adam Wayland said that the way people talk about the internet is a clear indication of the popularity of online channels.
"The fact that people can actually talk about 'googling' something - it's actually a verb now, it's the way that people actually look for their services," he told the publication.
He added that businesses are now using the web to market more than traditional channels such as print media.
In related news, figures released by Veronis Suhler Stevenson state that the amount of money spent on online marketing in the US will outstrip other channels.
